How To Lose 10 Pounds With One Little Change

When trying to lose weight there are all sorts of things you can do to get started.  You know about diet and exercise, but what little changes could you make to lose 10 pounds or even more?  Believe it or not, it might take less effort than you think.

If you make one little change to your habits you can absolutely lose 10 pounds.  This is no quick weight loss scheme.  In fact, it might take weeks or months, but it’s an honest change that you can stick with.

Remember how to lose a pound?  You need to consume 3,500 calories less. That means ten pounds would require you to reduce your consumption by 35,000 calories.  To start, examine your daily diet to find patterns.  What are you eating or drinking every day or week that you can reduce?  Determine the calories this is adding to your diet and plan to make a change so you can lose weight.

Here are some examples:

Soda – If you drink 2 cans of regular soda (90 calories) every weekday at the office that is 900 calories per week.  If you cut that down to two cans per week you would save 720 calories, or 37,440 calories per year. That is equal to 10.7 pounds.

Fast Food – If you eat an average fast food sandwich (450 calories) and small fries (231 calories) three times per week that is 2,043 calories.  If you replace two of the three meals with a 6″ chicken sub (320 calories) you would save 722 calories, or 37,544 calories per year.  That is equal to 10.73 pounds.

Night Snack – If you eat 3 ounces of chips (465 calories) a few times per week at night that is 1,395 calories.  If you replace two of them with an apple (95 calories) you would save 740 calories, or 38,480 calories per year.  That is equal to 10.99 pounds.

Get the idea?  In each example, you can still eat the things you like, just in moderation.  These small changes will allow you to lose 10 pounds with each little change.  This doesn’t mean you should consume sugary soda, fast food, or greasy chips.  However, it is important when dieting that you don’t deprive yourself if you want to stick with your diet, so these examples are realistic.
