Where To Eat For Weight Loss

If you are trying to lose weight and are having a tough time, it may be time to consider where to eat for weight loss. Perhaps even more, it might be time to consider where not to eat for weight loss.

Here is a simple rule for where to eat for weight loss: Eat in the kitchen.

That sounds simple enough but for many people it is not. Naturally there are times when you will find that your only reasonable choice is to eat out at a restaurant, so eating in your kitchen may not be feasible at those times. The truth is, however, that for most people it is reasonable if only they would make the choice.

If meals are not planned and eaten in the kitchen some bad habits tend to spring up which inhibits weight loss or, worse, triggers weight gain.

Eating in Front of the TV

Eating in front of the TV is one of the worst habits a person can get into. Eating while watching TV is almost always less healthy than an actual meal that you would serve in your kitchen. The food tends to be something that can be eaten by hand and lacks vitamins and nutrients that a sit down meal would contain. Not many people eat cooked broccoli in while watching television. Whats more, the TV consumes your mind and makes you forget all about portion control. The result is that you overeat.

Eating in the Car

The car is another eating trap for many people. Eating in the car is an easy choice when it comes to convenience, but think of this – Most of the foods eaten in the car are made in a fast food restaurant or are unhealthy snacks like chips or candy. Many of those fast foods are high in calories and fat and offer little nutrition. A meal eaten in your kitchen can be eaten with a fork or spoon, opening up a whole world of healthier choices.

Eating in the Office

Skipping breakfast is one of the most common errors many people trying to lose weight make. If you work in a office, chances are there will be food around for you when you get hungry. Further, that food is most likely to be sugary baked goods, cookies, bars, or candy – all of which offer little nutrition. By eating a healthy breakfast in your kitchen before you go to work you can avoid hunting for this food by mid morning.

Make the Change

If you are struggling to lose weight, consider where you are eating your meals. Eating in your kitchen allows you to include more healthy options that require a spoon or fork. Avoid eating in front of the TV, in the car, or snacking in the office. For weight loss, where you eat may be as important as what you eat.
